18 Tooling Cleaning & Maintenance

Tooling maintenance schedule (typical)

Daily:

  • Clean base tool using soapy water. Do not use abrasives.

  • Inspect base tool rubber and replace if damaged.

  • Inspect top tool seal profiles for contamination or damage.

Weekly:

  • Check base tool feet security and height setting (where applicable).

  • Check base tool profiles for damage.

  • Clean and lubricate jaws carriage and base tool lift guide rods.

Monthly:

  • Dismantle top tool and inspect springs (where applicable).

  • Inspect top tool blades. Dress minor damage carefully.

  • Check and tighten shoulder screws.
